Greetings!  My name is Harold Jonas, PhD, LMHC, CAP. I am an incredibly committed, knowledgeable and empathetic person who understands how to quickly assess and pinpoint problem areas. This translates to a fast track toward planning and implementing a strategy toward resolution of many of the problems people encounter. This comes from living in your shoes for the last 30 years of being “awake”. I, like so many gravitated toward the helping professions to understand the impact of multi-generational dysfunction I experienced.  This results in a professional who “gets it”.

I would describe my approach as empathetic, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Existential theory and Motivational Interviewing to promote growth, work through trauma, and increase empowerment.

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University (1994) and completed a PhD at International University focused on Addictions in 2004.  I am licensed in the State of Florida since 1996 to practice Psychotherapy and Counseling as a Mental Health Counselor. I am also a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) since 1993.
